I am aware that I haven't updated this blog for ages... but well... as soon as my examination season at the Uni stops I intend to update this blog!

PART II - VILA NOVA DE CERVEIRA, "THE NOT SO NEAR CITY"

Cerveira is another near city, it's not that near but yet we went there two times. sadly I haven't had the chance to photograph evereything I wanted there.

This is a fountain that as my friend's mom said has a legend behind it. That big suspended rock was meant to judge the criminals, as they were standing under it if it fell that meant they had really commited a crime, if not they could go freely, as they were considered innocents.

This just reminds me of Stonehenge and a structure near my University.

I don't really know what this statue stands for, I just thought the little fellows were hoping I'd do the same, and so I did and Ana photographed me! :)

This is on our way to the Cervo (means deer), a little chapell.

On the floor it said "Amor", which stands for LOVE in portuguese.

This is the view from the chapell. An isle you can see there is called The Love Isle as it's heart-shapped.

Can you see the heart?! I surely can! :)

The cervo is almost there!! :)

If you look closely you can see a door on the top of the mountain.

It's said a man promised to build a church there if his wife could get pregnant and she did and so he started building the church. But the wife had an abortion and so he stopped building it.

And I finally reach the Cervo!! :)

But a fire was very near and so we had to be quick so that we wouldn't be stuck there.

We got back to the city safe and sound and glad, cause the view from the Cervo was amazing! :)

HOLIDAYS

PART II - CAMINHA, "THE NEAREST CITY"

Seixas is only a few minutes apart (and acutally a bridge afar) from Caminha, a cute little city. And so we've spent lots of our time there, either during the day and even during the night (we've also visited the pubs' street) and here's the result of my time there. Oh, better explain that I was so lucky to be in Caminha during the days of the annual Celebration in honor of Santa Rita de Cássia, and so it was always fuller and funnier than I guess a normal day in Caminha!!

And now the inside. If you look closely on the right of the main-altar you can see a dressed in black woman figure, it's Santa Rita de Cássia.

Here's me in the Chafariz (which is a word for fountain... well, not quiet, but almost the same). This photo was taken by my friend Ana, thanks to her I actually show up in a few photos!!

As you can see the main streets were all lightened up to honour Santa Rita!

We even got to see the Fanfarra (which is the musical group of any corporation like fire brigade) and they were pretty good.

The next tiles can be seen at the Caminha Railway Station.

This is the only beach I've actually stepped in during my 3 days in Caminha. It's Gelfa Beach. As every beach in the North of Portugal, the water is freezing cold, but I've swam in there! :)

This mountain here is already Spain. It's called Monte de Santa Tecla.

And can be seen everywhere around Caminha. This time I was on the rocks near Moledo beach.

In Moledo beach there's big piles of seaweed drying up, it's called "sargaço".

We even got the chance to see the municipal band playing.

And they did played pretty well!

It was a mix of old and young people.

I love this photo.

And then it was time for the pyro show!

The town hall is on fire and no one cares! LOL

It all ended up with fireworks to close to the people (and that's why me and my friends went away to the pubs' street - Rua Direita).

HOLIDAYS

PART I - SEIXAS, "THE HEADQUARTER"

This summer I spent 3 days in a friend's house in Seixas, a friendly village up north.

While reachind the village we found this tiles saying "slowly begins Seixas".

This is the church and the pillory in Seixas.

I had to photograph the tiles!!

As you can see, the interior of the church isn't bad for such a small village. It was a good surprise for me!

This is one of the creepiest things I've seen in a few... Those wax figures are promises that people make to saints. Every wax figure represents the part of the body which was sick and got better.

The church is in this nice square. It's renewd and looking very friendly.

Right next to that square it's "Villa Idalina", a very beautiful house.

I really love the tiles in this house.

They are so lovely.

And just check out the name written on the tiles!!

And at the end this "cata-vento" to see where the wind blows.

And this little fellow was in my friend's house too! He was a nice model and haven't even moved a bit when the flash snapped out!!

This house we actually don't really know what it is. We think it's a particular house... It's on a old way to get from Seixas to Vila Nova de Cerveira.

Driving to University I saw this grafittie and wanted to photograph it... and so I drove around and snapped a shot...

While I was there I found a bunch of grafitties and so I snapped more shots.

This one says "They are somewhere around us." (and I think this is taken from the X-files). I really like this one. The alliens are drawn in real size, I mean, they're the size of a human.

Ok... so this is a very weird post... but what do you expect?! As I said before I'm stuck at home sick with nothing else to do... And one of my protégés (well, it's just that I can't find the right english word to say it... I mean, it should be goddaughter if that didn't sound too rigid or so.... cause they're called goddaughters but it's just something used in University and I don't know the equivalent to those traditions we have in Uni in english...) just recruited me to answer this 5 habits I have... I guess it's something supposed to pass on from one blogger to another... and I'm supposed to recruit 5 bloggers to do this also... but... I don't think I'll recruit anyone...

Anyway... so here's my 5 habits... or 5 of many! LOL I don't know!! I'm just doing this for her!

1. I can't live without my cellphone. I always drag it around anywhere I go (yes, and that means the bathroom!!). I guess it's not that unusual nowadays, but at least my mum thinks so!

2. I can't live without Diet Coke or Lemon Nestea!! And yeah, that's a very serious habit! I almost would call it an addiction.

3. I can't sleep without my 5 fluffy toys (yes, you read it right, 5!! LOL)!! Usually while travelling I take 2 or 3 with me cause my mum doesn't allow me to take them all... and yes... I'm 21! LOL

4. I can't help but saying everything that comes to my head... and sometimes that gets me in very serious troubles!

5. I can't help but doing this kind of things... like little chain-mail questionnaires and stuff like this!!

Hope you like it Vampiria! And hope my blogger-gang don't think I'mm too crazy! LOL

Oh... and by the way... if any of you wants to be recruited... oh well... I recruit (in a volunteer way!) Milan, Z, K Murphy J, B&B and my Uni-mate strith! LOL! But don't feel like you have to do this, you can, but you don't have to!

PALÁCIO DO FREIXO

PART IX - BALL ROOM

As I'm stuck at home sick and hence have no new photos I decided to finished the Palácio do Freixo's tour. Hope you enjoy what's left to see! If you wanna see what I've shown already you better check my March'05 archive! ;)

So altough I almost left this post for last it is one of the first rooms I've seen once I was there. It's not as big as you could except for a ball room, but hey, this ain't a king's palace!! See that veranda? I was there also, it is reacheble trough the second floor and it has a nice view of the room.

This is one of the lateral walls. It's entirely decorated, which I found really cool!

Sadly this one couldn't be entirely repaired.

I love thos mirrors! It gives a nice perspective! It makes the room loos wider!

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET, EKTOMORF AND CHILDREN OF BODOM

HARD CLUB – 2006.01.19

As always, me and my sister managed to get in the first rows! And after a quick trip to the merchandise where we both got a girlie COB tshirt from the new album the first concert began, it was One Man Army and the Undead Quartet.

This guy here is their lead singer and front man, Johan Lindstrand.

This one's Mikael Lagerblad, the lead guitar. He was standing right in front of me and at some point I noticed he was pointing at me... I was confused, not sure if it really was for me... but then my sister yelled thrilled "he was pointing at you!!" and so I was damn sure that it really was for me! LOL But I did nothing (not even smiled)...

This one is their bassplayer and backing vocals. He was pretty hot on stage and had a pleasant voice! Oh, and by the way, he's Robert Axelsson.

And so I felt compelled to photograph the two good looking guys that were standing in front of me! LOL

Another music later, Mikael wasn't ready to quit, so this time he did a strange move with his eyes directly to me... I smiled! I had to! LOL

And then, as their concert got to an end the front man asked the audience if we wanted something to drink, as we all said yes he poured some beer into a cup and sent to the audience. I confess I feared he would throw the beer at us but no, he was really kind and gave it hand in hand. And then, their stagetech Niko poured some more beer into another cup and Robert gave us! :)

Well, then their concert was over. I really enjoyed them, their music was pretty heavy!!

After a while Ektomorf came and their show started! They're an hungarian metal band... I had listened to a few things before but couldn't find any similarity to what I listened in the show! LOL

I'm not sure what's his name, but this guy was so cool, he'd jump while he was playing in such a weird way, but so fucking cool! :)

Guess what?! More headbanging! And yeah, it's the front man again!

And eventually the show had to end cause the crowd was waiting anxiously for COB...

While we waited...

... we spotted António Freitas peeking at the window exclusively used by bands and invited people. António Freitas is the main metal journalist in Portugal, but I used to like him much more than I do now...

And after a kinda long wait COB started!! And the mosh got harder...

I had to start the COB show with this guy, Henkka!! And why?! Because he's the main reason why we were at the show and at that exact location in the venue! LOL Yes, my sister fancies him a lot! And I have to confess he's pretty good-looking and a really sweet guy to talk to!

Here you can see the front man Alexi Laiho and Janne, my favourite "Child"!! LOL

As the mosh got harder the gig got harder as well!

This one's Roope, a bit (maybe more than a bit! LOL) older than the rest of the guys, but as funny as the others!

Well, you might notice that Henkka appears in a lotta pictures, that's mainly because I took it very serious the "job" my sister got me: photographing Henkka a lot for her! LOL

Jaska performs a magnificent drum solo and the entire Hard Club goes silent! Everyone is totally astonished!

... or maybe not, since Alexi decides to play along! Yep, you're right, it's their little battle!! And it's freaking cool! :)

And as a special treat Alexi gives Janne a beer which he promptly drinks (he even started drinking while Alexi was still holding the beer but sadly that I couldn't get on camera...)!

Yep, this ain't a particularly good quality photo, but this one was done with my mobile, anyway... it's the only one where you can see the wild crowd! :)

Sadly the show ended and the guys came to us... this is Jaska greeting the audience. I managed to touch him!

And here's Janne greeting us all!

Alexi greets us as well... and I think I did touch him also... if it wasn't him was another of the guys (since I remember I touched Jaska and another guy...).

And so the show ended... And the roadies started to get things started to go to Spain...

Here's Dr. Rock (I guess that's how my sister told me he's known), a hot roadie, getting things ready!

After a long wait the band decided to show up. This time it was really weird, cause the 1st floor of the Hard CLub was partially closed and the opening bands were there just looking at the crowd... I just didn't get why the hell couldn't they be downstairs signing autographs and taking photos with us?!?!

COB finally showed up... here's me and Andreia (my photo partner at the concerts) with Jaska! he's such a cutie!

And me with Henkka! Such a sweet boy!

Jaska and Henkka (which can be seen in this photo... can you spot them?!) went to talk to Robert from Army.

And I took a photo with him.. but he wasn't that nice... altough he didn't do anything wrong I couldn't feel any warm... he's just not like COB, which is really weird, cause usually opening bands are so much friendly than the main one, since they usually are less known and people don't really care much about them and so, when a fan comes to them they usually get pretty excited... but not Robert... I'd say he's a bit arrogant or something... or maybe he's not that used to the interaction with the fans... I don't know...

After another long wait the Hard Club security guys (some look-a-like pittbulls guys) threw everyone out cause they wanted to close... and so my sister decided to go and try to find out where their bus were... we found it out and so we stayed there...

We waited in a freezing hell for ages and no one would come... but at least we found out where bands park while playing in Hard Club! Oh... and my car was parked right next to the Hard Club so I had to go back and pick the car up...

And yet, we waited more and more!!

But finally someone came... it was Ektomorf! And altough we weren't really sure if they all were part of the band or if some of them were roadies we got autographs from them all and did this photo... sadly Sérgio (Andreia's friend) didn't notice the photo wasn't that sharp... but that's ok... in our memory it's sharp as hell! :) I have to say the front man he's really cute! He was speaking to me so gently and listening to me complaining that he kept asking people to mosh the hell out which made me be kicked out a lot all night! LOL Big thumbs up for their sympathy! :)

And we kept waiting....

Finally Janne and Alexi came with a guy I couldn't know who he was... now I know he's Marek from Army, he's their drummer. I asked Janne to take a picture and the guy decided to pose with him so I took them this picture... and then he gently said he could take the pictures... but as I looked to him and noticed he was drunk as hell I decided to do the pictures myself! LOL Thanks anyway, Marek!! (I'm sorry that I haven't thanked you there...)

Look at me and Alexi! :) Oh... he's so petit! LOL It's really cool, cause on stage it seems like he "grows" and then... in real life he's a tiny gentle person! I really enjoyed meeting him, cause I always thought he would be a arrogant guy and he's not!

I finally managed to get a picture with my favourite one! Janne and me!! How nice, uh?! :)

But I decided to take another one cause I thought we could look better! LOL

And suddenly my sister mobile rings (and t was almost 2am!!)... and we both said "it's gota be our mum!"... Janne said "I can talk to her!" and we were like "yeah right, great joke!" but then noticed he really meant that... and so... my sister picked up my mum and then...

... Janne talked to her "Hi, it's Janne. How are you?!" LOL! Great!! Great! I'd pay to see my mum's face!

After the longest wait ever Roope finally showed up... drunk! LOL He had been drinking with some local dudes (as a roadie told me)...

And we took a picture!

But my sister thought I should open my eyes and so she said "Let's do it again, but now with your eyes open, Tété!" But Roope thought it was for him... and so he opened his eyes a lot!! LOL And my sister "Oh, not you Roope... she!!" as we were laughing and looking weird the photo looked like this! LOL

Then 2 young dudes came to Roope and asked him to get Alexi to come out of the bus... We decided that as we were already damn late to go home we could take more time there (cause it couldn't get any sooner now! LOL) and went with them!

Alexi was now wearing a cowboy hat and so I immediatly yelled "Alexi I wanna take a picture with the cowboy hat!" And I did! And also my sister and Andreia! :) And he was freezing... but we were too, so... LOL

And here's the result of the night! My ticket entirely signed by COB! Just notice... my ticket is the #1!! :)

It was a great night!! Waiting already for the next one... But when?!

SMELLS LIKE XMAS

This shot is from my own Xmas tree.

This candle holder came from Finland (or something like that), it was a gift from a friend of my mum... it's really cool!

And here you can see it better!

This is the best Xmas tree I've ever seen! It was a gift my mum's blind student gave her... and it is so tasty!!! It's dark chocolat and I'm totally fanatic!! I adore dark chocolat! This tree I believe is an endangered specie! At least in my hand it doesn't last long! LOL

Hope every each of you had a wonderful Xmas! Mine was cool! But now I have plenty to study as I start my exams 4th January... :(

OCEANS OF SADNESS AND EPICA

HARD CLUB – 2005.11.01

So once again I went to the Hard Club for another fantastic gig!!

As we were waiting outside to get inside we saw the band coming to the Hard Club... :) And so we made them stop to give us some autographs and take some pictures with us! :)

Here's Armando Jorge and me with Coen Janseen, who plays the synths.

Here's me with Yves Huts, who plays the bass. In fact you can also see my sister and Cátia, a friend of ours.

And just look at my damn big smile while I'm hugging Mark Jansen!! :) Oh, by the way, he plays the guitar and he's in charge of the grunts and screams, which is really cool but weird at the same time, cause he has a really sweet voice and then grunts like noone!

And here's another very happy me with the sweet and dedicated Ad Sluijter, who plays the guitar.

After that exciting moment they all went in and we followed them inside... the night was beginning! :)

The first concert of the night was Oceans of Sadness, a belgian band I had never heard before but was really impressed... they were damn cool!

And so, that's the band on stage!

Here's Tijs Vanneste, the lead singer.

And his abs were quite good as well! :)

This was when the microphone got stuck on Cauwie's guitar and he was trying to get that off... and doing that he stuck his dreadlocks on the guitar and the microphone fell off! It was quite a cool moment! LOL

He was so funny... he made such cool faces and stuff!

Their concert ended and so we waited for Epica to come...

And they did... we started listening to "Huban K'u «A new Age Dawns - prologue»", the first track from the Consign to Oblivion album and soon the band was showing up!

The first to come was Jeroen Simons, who (as you can see) plays the drums. And so I snapped a quick photo at him, cause drum players are always hard to get at the concerts!

This one's here is Mark, who was standing right in front of me (well, I have to confess I chose that spot cause I knew Mark would stand there!).

And he rocked! :)

This one here is Simone Simons, the lead singer (and also Mark's girlfriend - damn lucky her...).

From my spot I could also see quiet well the very nice and funny Coen.

Ad was standing on the other side of the stage, but he made some trips to my spot and so I got some pictures of him as well!

The lovely Simone enchants us all with her astonishing voice!

As always she and Mark play a bit on stage with each other and it's always fun to see!

Altough you can't see much from this photo of Mark I really love the light!

Yves was standing right next to Ad but he eventually would come to Mark and tease him!

And Simone shows off her dancing skills, which are great!

I guess this is my favourite Ad photo I have!

Simone wants us to sing... and so we did!! :)

Simone sings a more quiet song and the audience goes along! I absolutely adore this picture due to the black effect it had around Simone's body! I think she looks like a candid Virgin Mary or something!

And Simone surprises us all with the previously unreleased track "Linger" from the Quietus single.

They just look so great together! :)

And they cheer up the crowd!

I absolutely adore the way this photo turned out to be! Just look at Mark's hair! Way too crazy!

After this they went away and the concert ended...

Really?!

We didn't want the concert to end so soon... so we started shouting for them....

And so...

Coen came back.

And asks us (and hopes he say it right) if we "querem mais?" (meaning: want more).

And we obviously wanted damn more!!

Simone and the rest of the band came back to sing more for us!!

Altough we can't barely see the face in this picture I really adore it!

I'm so proud of this shot! Altough it's not that a good one, it's almost the only photo I could snap at Jeroen, as the drum players are always hard to get on stage because they are really hidden by the drum set!

The concert ends and so we run to the backstage door to wait for the band to come out and meet us!

Ad came out first! He and his beloved Fanta!

Then comes Yves and I try not to look "sad" as I looked last year!

As I waited for Simone to take a photo with me I saw Cauwie from Oceans of Sadness and so I took a picture with him.

And as an act of mercy I asked them out for a photo... as they are from Oceans of Sadness as well and were really hoping that someone would recognize them!

Simone finally takes a picture with me!

And then I went to find out Tijs of Oceans of Sadness... and boy.... is he hot?! Hell yeah! :)

And then... another hot guy! :) Mark again! After he gave me 2 kisses on the cheek! :) Aweee! LOL

And I go to bug Yves again! And after a request from my sister he does that eyebrow thing he always does... and gosh... isn't that the sexiest thing you've ever seen?!

And again!! And I was laughing my ass out! LOL

I was really thirsthy and I was talking to Ad... and he was drinking a Fanta, so I asked him if he could give me his Fanta... and he did...

Minutes later he asked us four if we didn't wasnt anything to drink! We sure wanted!

And he got us Fanta and Coke! :) Damn cool! :)

But still I hadn't seen Jeroen... I asked Ad where he was and he told me he was having a shower! I asked Yves and he told me the same... and I asked Yves if he could go in there and drag Jeroen out... he told me he couldn't or else Jeroen would be very mad at him... I even suggested Yves to tell Jeroen that 3 gorgeous girls were waiting for him outside and then he wouldn't get mad... but he didn't drag him out of the shower... So I went to talk to Mark and ask him again where Jeroen was (as I asked it that before and he told me if he wasn't outside in 20 minutes he would go inside and drag him out)... I told Mark the 20 minutes had already gone by and he should go and drag him... he didn't drag him out... instead he dragged us in...

That's right, we went backstage! :) Aweee!!

VERONA - SUMMER OF 2005

So we arrived in Verona after visiting Padova. This was almost the first thing we saw there. A piazza with antique buildings and a Colosseum.
Actually my sister is in this photo, but as she doesn't like appearing in my blog I'm not telling where she is! LOL

This is in one of the buildings in the piazza. It says there that this was the balcony from where Garibaldi would speak to the masses.

And here's the Colosseum in Verona! It's cool and well preserved!

This roman guy would stand there to take photos with tourists... but you'd have to pay for that... so I snapped a shot hoping for him not to find out... and so I haven't payed him! :) LOL

They use the Colosseum to perform Operas and stuff like that. At the end of the season they show off all the scenaries used!! This bulls were from Aida I guess.

And this photo I particullarly enjoy... it shows part of the Colosseum and this statue of the Virgin...

Once in Verona you must visit the Capuletto's house. Yep, Julieta's house.

This is the famous balcony that Shakespeare made known all over the world... and th statue standing on the left is Julieta. This is a postcard as it is totally impossible to snap a shot without tourists there!!

I wanted to go to the balcony so that someone could snap a picture of me there... but I had no time to wait, so I snapped a shot at the lady standing there...

But I managed to grab Julieta's boob, cause it's a good luck charm as they say... so far my luck hasn't changed... maybe I should have grabbed harder! LOL

On the Julieta's house walls people stuck love messages... And the result is this... I left a message also... but I decided, as I don't have a boyfriend and my chosen victim would never read the message, to leave a humurous message... so I left a cheesy message to James Hetfield from Metallica!! (my platonic love!) LOL

And this is the central piazza. It's a market there. And it's beautiful and warming.

This is the statue of the Holy Truth wich in italian is Verona, and so the city became known as Verona.

And this is Dante. He's a common presence everywhere in Italy!

This street here is the chic street there. It's where all the famous and damn expensive shops are at!! Pretty cool if you had the time to actually enjoy!

As you can see, even Louis Vuiton was there!

This little girl went to give the mime a coin... and th mime decided to play a bit with the girl.... it was a sweet moment!

PADOVA - SUMMER OF 2005

So this was the first thing I saw when I came in Padova. A piazza or something like that surrounded by statues. I liked it, it was peaceful and the rainny floor looked amazing... even the wet street looked cool cause it reflected the statues!

As you can see here I'm not lying when I say the street reflected the statues... well... actually in this photo you can only see the reflection of the street lamp, but I guess you can imagine the rest!

After a tiny walk heading the Basillica of St. Anthony we actually got there.
St. Anthony was born in Lisbon and died in Padova, so the two cities are really fond of the sain, and we (portuguese) always call him St. Anthony of Lisbon, and italians call him St. Anthony of Padova... I guess we want the exclusivity of the saint! LOL
The basillica's outside ain't that special. And the photo ain't that good either cause it was an analogic photo that I scanned.

And this one of the lateral doors. Church doors in Italy tend to be all like this, massive and very beautiful. I like it! :)

And so this is the impressive inside of the basillica. No, this photo wasn't taken by me, obviously!! But since we weren't allowed to snap photos on the inside I had to buy tons of postcards, and so this is one of the postcards I bought.

This is also a postcard. It's the St. Anthony altar. This massive black piece on the right is St. Anthony's tumb. Everyone rubbed his hand there, so I did he same... but I confess I had no ideia why I was doing that... later I found out it was meant to give me good luck to marry... but.... marry who?! I don't even have a boyfriend!! LOL
Anyway, this is the most significant place in the basillica, the atmosphere is totally different... you can almost feel the faith in the air... people actually believe that St. Anthony can make a difference in their lives and you can feel that there. I loved that.

And this is the Crucifixion by Pietro Annigoni, an italian painter. I loved this cause it's so unsual.

Oh.... since you haven't been able to see much of the basillica, as I wasn't allowed to photograph I found out the official site of the basillica, so you might be interested in taking a look at the history and art.

VENICE - SUMMER OF 2005

This was one of the first views I've had of Italy as I got there. When I went outside the boat to snap this photo I also decided to snap a shot with my analogic camera, but as I opened it the batteries when down the canal... lol... thank god I had another pair of batteries with me!
Oh... and if you're wandering why the heck the photo is sliding to the left, it's exactly because I was in a boat that kept moving and moving... :)

And this reminded me of a paiting in my grandad's house... just like the same thing, but this time the real deal! :)

Did you know the parts in the metal symbol of the gondola represent the counties inside Venice and the one on the other side represents the other county that is on the other side of the main Canal, Guidecca.

Ponte dei Sospiri, a bridge that the condemned had to cross to go and find out their punishment (many wouldn't return as their punishment was death).

I can't remember the name of this church, but I absolutely adore the photo. Never thought this would tunr out like this. :) I'm absolutely proud of me! :)

As I hoped, I managed to go to the Fair in the last day to see the Grand Tournament.

It was a bit difficul to buy the tickets as they were running out... but we managed to bought them! :)

While we waited to get in we saw the knights parading to get in the Grand Tournament. Before the knights came these bagpipers.

This is a helper, and he's kinda cute!

And here's the Black Knight and the Green Knight (Don Raoul).

Friday I went during the afternoon and went with some friends.
After a nice drink in a nice spot we went to see the birds again, but this time with light enough not to be needed the flash.

MEDIEVAL JOURNEY IN THE LAND OF SANTA MARIA

THURSDAY 04.08.2005

So I went again to the Medieval Fair. This time to see the Medieval Jousts. We had to run to get there on time, cause we had some difficulties finding a place to park my car... The Medieval Jousts are organized by Legend Especialistas.

We bought the ticket...

While the knights were already entering the Medieval Jousts' place.

They were both gorgeous, I have to confess... LOL

The photos turned out too dark cause I was a bit far away and so the flash couldn't reach properly the knights... :s

But here's a proper photo of my favourite knights, D. Raoul from Italy, this photo was taken from Viagem Medieval.

And this one is a helper, a "escudeiro" (can't find the english word... sorry), last year me and my sister decided to call him Sir Lancelot! :)

And here's another helper and a clerck man. They were posing for the photos and I absolutely love the photo! :) Due to this one me and my sister started calling this long-haired helper Sir Metal. :)

At the end me and my friend (and all the other girls who wanted) had the chance to get a photo with the knights. Come on girls, just tell me if they don't look gorgeous!!! (Specially the blue one, D. Raoul!) The red one is D. Alberto from Spain.

After the jousts they returnedto their lodgement and I snapped this photo.

So we went to see the rest of the Fair. And got to the "birds' lodgment"! There were plenty of eagles, falcons and owls. I snapped this photo but soon regreted it, cause I haven't thought the flash would pop out.... but that was damn obvious as it was night and dark... poor owl... and stupid me... :s

As we were getting back to my car to return we heard some cool music. It was In Taberna, a french medieval music group.

... as they kept playing...

They had such a huge vibe!

Everyone was dancing, including the medieval characters.

And they were playing and playing.

This beggar is kind of traditional in the Fair.

I'm not sure if he is part of Teatro Vivarte or not...

D. Manuel I orders the expulsion of all the Moors and Jews of Portugal. They may be authorised to stay if they convert to the catholic religion in order to live freely and without fear to loose their life. It is a political-matrimonial imposition of the Catholic Kings, seeing that D. Isabel of Castela only comes to Portugal, after the expulsion of the Jews and Muslims.This measure is partially set up at a time that it is ruled the baptism of minor sons, preventing families from leaving the country. The baptismal water is imposed under orders of deportations, strokes, shoves and violence. This conversion makes new-Christians.

This theatrical display shows the Conversion of Jews.

Here you can see a Jewish old man being forced to be baptized so that he becomes a new-Christian against his will.

After the display we went to see the rest of the Fair. We found the same musicians as we did Friday, but this day they were a bit more quiet and without energy...

We found some other musicians... These ones were totally great. The music was involving, specially because they had bagpipes and I absolutely adore bagpipes! We started screaming for them as we applauded them... and so one of them came to us and played around with a friend of mine! :) It was hilarious!! "Quita las gaffas! No es medieval! Quita las gaffas!" (Remove the glasses! It's not medieval! Remove the glasses!)

Some more musicians... They were cool too, but a bit too calm for me...

And then came the drummers!! It's always a lotta fun hearing them!

Along with the drummers came the street entertainers... This group played around with fire... this girl is doing fire poi, which is damn cool!

And this boy spits fire! WOW! :)

So once again I went to the Knight's Lodgment... these guys are from Teatro Vivarte. They were fighting each other...

The photos came out with some sort of a gohst aspect because I've used the nightshot view...

MEDIEVAL JOURNEY IN THE LAND OF SANTA MARIA

Every year in Santa Maria da Feira takes place a Medieval Fair. It's a fantastic week to visit Santa Maria da Feira. It's filled with magic. I love to go there, usually go there 3 or more times a year... This year went 4 times (hoping to go another time, yet) and made some photos so you guys can see what it's like! :)

There's medieval music.

There's some parades. This one is about the Black Death.

Clercs walk around the streets praying for the people to survive the Black Death.

There's always street entertainers. This girl belongs to a group of young people who...

... play around with the fire.

Here's the girl again (this time I'm using night shot, and so this all get blurry).

And the boy, who decided to pose for me...

The clercs found more dead people and brought them...

... into the chappel...

... and to the old Lazaretto, a place out of the city's edge where infected people remained in quarantine and patients were lodged.

I have to say that I think he's kinda cute (but he's married! LOL).

And then I went to the Knights´ lodgement. This one here is "Teatro Vivarte"'s one... they are a group of portuguese people. And this thing you see here was used to crack open the castle's door.

They had a snake there and allowed people to rub the snake... I did that too.. I have to say it's disgusting... this is the possible photo... my mum did it... not that nice (since all you can see is the snake and my hand... not much)...

and the street entertainers too. It's another magical moment.

VILAR DE MOUROS: ANATHEMA, WITHIN TEMPTATION AND NIGHTWISH

VILAR DE MOUROS FEST – 2005.07.28

So we went to Vilar de Mouros fest, and by we I mean, me, my sister and my dad (as my mother hasn't allowe us two to go without my father... lol).

I managed to get into the fest location, kinda like 2 hours after we thought we'd get there... but what can we do?! We got lost because there were no signs showing the way to the fest and then we got stopped by the police who wanted to check if everything was ok... :)

This is the main stage.

The location was awesome, but it wasn't that good preserved, the grass wasn't that green and it was "a bit" worse than I thought it would be.

Harmony was giving away free flavoured condoms and there were 3 guys dresses as giant condoms playing around, and so I photographed myself with the strawberry and the apple ones! LOL

The first band to hit the stage was Oratory, a portuguese band. I didn't like it at all... the lead singer, Ana something, just kept shouting and shouting, she couldn't sing at all!!

We sat near a chappel and waited for our concerts to come. The sun went down and I snapped this photo! :)

Me and my sister had nothing to do (as well as my father who came with us) so we started fooling around with the photos... this is the one we look more normal! LOL

And finally Anathema hit the stage! They started with the only song I already knew, and it was really great!

Anathema's singer has a sexy way to sing... :)

While we waited for Within Temptation to start it strated rainning... and rainning damn much... so I had to cover myself! This was how I looked!!

And so Within Temptation finally began!!! WOW!! Awesome! :)

Robert, the guitar player, he's damn sexy playing... (he's the guy in black, as if any guy on stage wasn't in black..., standing behind Sharon, the lead singer)!

Her dress was kinda cool! Altough I didn't like much the embroided red stuff...

The gig was focused on the last album, The Silent Force, which wasn't that cool... But overall it was a great gig! I loved it! :)

And to finish they sang "Ice Queen" and said goodbye! That was a damn cool gig!!

After waiting an entire hour... yep... you read it well... and hour... Nightwish made us stand there for an hour just boring ourselves... :s Anyway, after waiting an hour they finally managed to show up... Tarja, the singer, was wearing a weird yellow coat that I really hated... oh well... who cares?! she sings damn great! :)

A flavoured condom was flying in front of us all... I wonder which flavour was it?! LOL

That long haired blonde guy you see there with Tarja is Marco, who sings some vocals, some more grunt like vocals. I totally love his voice and his beard (which sadly can't be seen here).

The keyboardss are played by Tuomas, he's really good looking. And the other guy you manage to see here is Marco!

Marco sings along with Tarja, who is already wearing her second outfit of the night. This outfit was pretty beautiful, a yellow skirt, with black trousers underneath and an excellent black top.
